Adoption Process

The adoption process involves several steps. First, you will need to submit an application. Following that, you will have the opportunity to meet the cats available for adoption. If you decide to proceed, you will be required to sign an adoption contract, which includes provisions that prohibit declawing, require the cat to be kept indoors, mandate that the adopter provides veterinary care, and allow for the return of the cat for any reason at any time. The adoption fees are $150 for a kitten and $135 for an adult cat.

Service Areas

We primarily serve Orange County, Virginia, as well as the neighboring counties of Spotsylvania, Louisa, Culpeper, Stafford, and Madison.

Cause 4 Paws in Locust Grove, VA

We operate in a rural, low-income county in Virginia where animal welfare is often overlooked. The community has numerous feral and stray cat colonies, with their populations managed through starvation, disease, and predation. Many residents, facing financial challenges, do not spay or neuter their pets, resulting in a significant number of unwanted animals. Our organization is dedicated to assisting homeless, abused, and abandoned cats and kittens by providing foster care, socialization, veterinary services, and adoption opportunities. We collaborate with other animal welfare organizations to meet the needs of our feline rescues. As a small, home-based organization, we ensure that all donations are directed exclusively to the care of our cats and kittens. Our mission is to respond to all rescue requests and we provide comprehensive veterinary care, which includes spaying and neutering, vaccinations, deworming, testing for feline leukemia and FIV, regular preventive treatments, microchipping, and facilitating adoptions. We successfully rehome over 250 animals each year. We are motivated by a commitment to alleviate suffering and to support those who care for cat colonies but lack the necessary resources.
