Adoption Process

We charge an adoption fee for most dogs, except for those that are older or have medical issues. Additionally, an adoption contract is required.

Service Areas

We are a national organization, and this initiative will focus on the northwest region, specifically Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief and Rescue Northwest in Poquoson, VA

As the Regional Director for the Northwest, my responsibilities include processing applications, conducting reference checks, and coordinating volunteers to perform home visits for prospective adopters. Additionally, we assist with transportation needs. I also oversee the intake of dogs that are being surrendered, whether by owners or shelters that may not be familiar with the breed. Our team ensures that each dog is healthy and addresses any behavioral issues that may arise.
