Highland County Humane Society Inc

The Highland County Humane Society, located in the scenic Highland County, Virginia, is committed to promoting the health, safety, and welfare of animals. Our mission involves compassionate care and protection of animals through collaboration with the county, its residents, and other animal welfare organizations. We are a dedicated team of volunteers and foster homes that rescue unwanted animals from the public, as well as from the Highland County pound and nearby shelters in Bath, Augusta, Rockingham, Page, Pendleton, and Pocahontas. Although we do not have a physical facility, our reach is extensive. Each member of our group is passionate about animal welfare and believes that every animal deserves a loving home. Since our establishment in July 2012, we have rescued over 850 dogs and cats. The Highland County Humane Society is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, relying entirely on donations, private and corporate sponsorships, adoption fees, and fundraising events.
