Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the completion of an application. Following this, we verify veterinary references and any other necessary references. We then conduct a home visit to ensure that the dog is a suitable match for the adopter. Once everything is confirmed, the adoption can be finalized. Adopters are required to sign a contract, which includes a lifetime return policy. The adoption fee ranges from $125 to $150 and covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations that are up to date, and microchipping.

Rockbridge Dog Rescue in Lexington, VA

RDR is a small, all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing shelter dogs that are at risk of euthanasia due to time or space constraints, or because of treatable medical conditions. Our mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals in Rockbridge County. Additionally, we aim to enhance the well-being of all dogs in the area through various assistance programs, including a spay/neuter assistance initiative. All of our dogs are cared for in foster homes.
