K-9 Lifesavers in Stafford, VA
K-9 Lifesavers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters, as well as from owners who can no longer care for them and other high-risk situations. The organization collaborates with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and kennels to provide loving temporary care while finding suitable, carefully screened permanent homes for each dog. Additionally, K-9 Lifesavers supports adopters and all dog owners by offering ongoing education and resources focused on the well-being of their dogs. This includes promoting proactive spay/neuter policies, positive behavior training, and proper nutrition.

Adoption process
The adoption process includes the submission of an adoption application, an interview, a veterinary check, and a home visit. The adoption fees are as follows: for puppies aged six months and under, the fee is $350; for dogs aged seven months to nine years, the fee is $300; and for dogs aged ten years and older, the fee is $200.
