Adoption Process

The adoption process includes signing an adoption contract and completing a Meet Your Match Survey for dogs. Adoption counseling is provided before approval. The fees are as follows: $65 for cats over six months, $85 for kittens under six months, $85 for dogs over six months, and $110 for puppies under six months. All animals undergo temperament testing, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), and microchipped.

Roanoke Valley SPCA in Roanoke, VA

Since its establishment in 1916, the RVSPCA has served as the primary advocate for homeless and unwanted animals in our community. We operate as a limited admission, no-kill facility, primarily accepting animals from the municipal pound for adoption. In addition to our adoption services, we offer pet-assisted therapy and humane education programs. We have also partnered with the Local Office on Aging to distribute pet food to recipients of Meals on Wheels, as well as with Manna Ministries, which runs a food pantry for low-income individuals. Over the course of a year, we provide 18,000 pounds of pet food to support the needs of pets in our area.
