Help Save Pets

Adoption Process

Our adoption process begins with a meet and greet between the prospective family, including any existing pets, and the animal. This is followed by a home check conducted by one of our Board members. Adoption fees vary depending on the pet's age and any special needs, with costs set at $175 for pets under one year, $150 for those over one year, and $75 for seniors and pets with special needs. Our primary objective is to find the ideal forever home for each animal in our care. An Adoption Agreement is required, and we are happy to provide a copy upon request. It is important that adopters inform us if they are unable to keep the pet for any reason, as we will always accept our animals back. Before adoption, all animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, licensed, and microchipped.

Service Areas

The service areas include the Phoenix metropolitan area in Maricopa County, as well as the neighboring regions of Pinal County, Yavapai County, and Pima County.

Medical Animals In Need in Phoenix, AZ

The M.A.I.N. Team is a volunteer organization based in Arizona that focuses on identifying, transporting, assisting, and promoting animals from local shelters in need of immediate medical care that cannot be provided by the shelters. Our team formed in response to the needs we observed within our county's shelter system. Every day, Maricopa County's animal shelters accommodate approximately 150 stray or unwanted dogs, which often leads to overcrowding, as kennels designed for single animals frequently house four or more. As the second largest animal shelter in the nation, the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) must prioritize space for healthy, adoptable animals. M.A.I.N. is dedicated to helping injured and sick animals that may not have any chance of being rescued in these facilities. We have established strong working relationships with both the east and west locations of the MCACC, and shelter staff routinely contact us to inform us of specific animals in need of our assistance. We are available to these shelters and their dogs around the clock, and in 2012 alone, our efforts resulted in the rescue of over 150 animals from euthanasia.
