Adoption Process
All prospective adopters must complete our adoption application before meeting any of our kittens. Applicants must reside in Colorado and be at least 21 years old. We do not approve applications from individuals intending to let the kitten outdoors, declaw the kitten, or adopt it on behalf of someone else. Once we approve an application, we will use the information provided to help identify which of our kittens may be the best match for the adopters. If the potential adopters choose a kitten and we agree it is a suitable fit, we will proceed with the adoption. The adoption fee is $115, which covers the cost of spaying or neutering, microchipping, FIV/FeLV testing, vaccinations, and any additional medical care the kitten received while in our care. Adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract, which stipulates their responsibility to care for the kitten, ensure vaccinations are administered as recommended by a veterinarian, refrain from declawing, and not allow the kitten outdoors unless in a harness, leash, or enclosed area. Additionally, adopters must comply with all state and local regulations related to pet ownership. Once the paperwork is completed, the contract is signed, and the adoption fee is paid, adopters may take their kitten home that same day. Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding our adoption process.
Service Areas
Most of our clients are located in the Denver Metro Area; however, we do not restrict our services to this region. We are proud to serve clients from all across Colorado.
The Feline Fix in Commerce City, CO
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the welfare of cats in our community. Our primary service is an affordable spay/neuter clinic, where surgeries are subsidized by our generous donors. We welcome all members of the community without income restrictions. Our clinic is recognized as one of Colorado's leading facilities for feral cats. Understanding that a visit to our clinic may be a feral cat's only opportunity for veterinary care, we strive to ensure they receive the best possible treatment before being returned to their original environment. In addition to our clinic, we operate a foster and adoption program specifically for kittens. We focus on socializing feral kittens, and our foster parents receive training to effectively support this process. While we are primarily a foster-based organization, we also maintain an adoption room at our locations where kittens are housed during the week. We provide trap rentals to community members interested in helping feral cats through a trap-neuter-return (TNR) approach. Our commitment extends to all cats, whether they are house cats needing spay/neuter services or community cats benefiting from our various programs. Since launching our foster and adoption program two and a half years ago, we have successfully rescued approximately 400 kittens from the streets and placed them in loving homes. This effort has significantly reduced the number of feral kittens born outdoors, ensuring that these animals receive the care and affection they deserve.
