Adoption Process

All animals are spayed or neutered before adoption and have received age-appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, undergone a basic veterinary examination, microchipped, and tested for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. Dogs and puppies over six months of age are also heartworm tested and have had a basic veterinary examination. If any animal is ill, they will receive treatment as directed by a veterinarian and will only be available for adoption once they are healthy. An adoption contract and rabies information pamphlet must be signed. A Meet and Greet is required prior to adoption to ensure that the animal is a suitable match for the family. While a home check is not mandatory before or after adoption, it can be conducted if necessary. We require that cats be kept indoors only and never declawed, and that dogs have appropriate fencing and sufficient yard and house space, and that they are never debarked or have their physical features altered. Animals that are determined not to be a good fit after a trial adoption or at any time thereafter must be returned to our rescue. The adoption fee is $85.00.
