Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of an adoption application. If the application is approved, we will schedule a meeting for the prospective adopter to meet the dog. Following this, a home visit will be conducted to ensure a suitable environment for the dog. The dog will then enter the adopter's home for a trial period of at least three weeks. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement and release must be signed, and an adoption fee of $125 is required, or $75 for senior or special needs animals.

As a 501(c)3 foster-based organization, Bonaparte's Retreat is committed to providing compassionate care for adoptable dogs whose time in shelters has run out. Our mission is to prevent the euthanasia of these deserving animals and to find them permanent, loving homes.
