Adoption Process

The adoption process includes completing an application form, followed by either a phone or in-person interview. A home visit will also be conducted, along with checks of veterinary and personal references. The adoption fee is $125 for dogs and $85 for cats. An adoption contract will be provided, which specifies that animals must primarily be kept indoors, dogs must be leashed or secured within a fenced area, and that cats cannot be declawed. Additionally, the contract states that animals cannot be transferred to others and must be returned to SARG if they need to be given up for any reason.

Shelter Animals Rescue Group in Oak Ridge, TN

Our organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, established in 1996, dedicated to rescuing adoptable dogs and cats from euthanasia at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter. We focus primarily on mixed breed animals. Our shelter frequently faces space constraints, resulting in the unfortunate need to euthanize animals that are otherwise suitable for adoption. We are committed to providing a second chance to as many animals as possible. We care for our animals in foster homes or boarding kennels until we can secure permanent homes for them. Additionally, we actively engage in various community events to promote animal adoption and the principles of rescue.
