We are a small group of dedicated volunteers focused on finding loving homes for retrievers that have been displaced, abandoned, or are strays, in partnership with organizations in the southern United States. These dogs may have been relinquished by their owners, found wandering the streets, or left at shelters. Our primary concern is their well-being, and we strive to rescue them from high-kill shelters, regardless of their circumstances. Our volunteers have extensive experience in dog rescue and placement, having collaborated with reputable organizations in the past. We are committed to reducing the number of dogs with wonderful personalities that are euthanized in southern shelters. In addition, we collaborate with local humane societies and individuals in Vermont. Golden Huggs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Adoption process
The adoption process includes an application review, which, if deemed acceptable, will proceed to a home visit. An application fee of $425 is required, and an adoption contract will be provided.
