Adoption Process

To adopt one of our animals, you must complete and submit an adoption application. This application allows us to understand your preferences and requirements for a pet, ensuring that we can match you with an animal that fits well in your home. Each animal has a unique temperament, so sharing detailed information helps us make the best possible placement for both you and the animal. We also conduct a veterinary check to facilitate a lasting and suitable match. Please note that all sections of the application must be fully completed for it to be considered. We do not ship our animals and require in-person meetings with potential adopters. Additionally, we ask that you reside within driving distance of Ponca City to adopt one of our foster pets. Adoption fees vary depending on the medical needs of each animal. Some pets are designated as VIPs, indicating they are in high demand and tend to find homes quickly. The adoption fees for these pets are higher, enabling us to support other animals in our care that may require costly medical treatment or more time to find a loving home.

Our animals are sourced from a variety of places. Some come from local animal shelters, others are strays that individuals find but are unable to keep, and some are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for their pets due to various circumstances.

PAW First Rescue is based in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and is comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers who collaborate with local Animal Control and other organizations to reduce the euthanasia rate in our community by helping to find homes for abandoned and unwanted animals. Pets For Life Rescue operates entirely on donations and the efforts of volunteers. The adoption fee helps to cover the medical care provided to the animals. All animals are spayed or neutered upon reaching sexual maturity, and they receive current vaccinations, as well as treatment for worms, fleas, ear mites, and any other medical needs. All members of Pets For Life Rescue are volunteers. Every dollar donated directly supports our canine and feline companions. None of our volunteers receive payment or compensation from any income or donations received.
