Adoption Process
The adoption process begins with the completion of an adoption application. Interested adopters must then participate in an interview with an adoption counselor to ensure that their expectations and prior experience with animal care are suitable. We conduct a veterinary check for any current or previous pets within the last five years. If the potential adopter rents their home, we require either a signed lease or verbal confirmation from the landlord regarding any requirements or restrictions. Additionally, all other pets in the household must be spayed or neutered. For families that own a dog and wish to adopt another, a meet-and-greet between their current dog and the prospective dog is necessary before finalizing the adoption. It is also important that all family members meet the new pet, and everyone must agree to the adoption before bringing the animal home. Our adoption fees are structured as follows: - Puppies aged 2-5 months: $495 - Puppies aged 6-11 months: $395 - Adult dogs aged 1-7 years: $325 - Senior dogs aged 8 years and older: $125 - Kittens aged 2-11 months: $175 - Adult cats aged 1-11 years: $100 - Senior cats aged 12 years and older: $45 All animals are adopted out spayed or neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, provided with monthly preventatives, dewormed, fecal tested, and come with a health certificate for transport animals. Cats are also tested for FIV/FeLV, and dogs for 4DX.

Conway Area Humane Society in Conway, NH
We are a dedicated group committed to ensuring the proper treatment and care of animals in need. We accept surrenders and strays from our local towns, as well as dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters in the southern region that face the risk of euthanasia. Our mission includes educating the local community on responsible animal care to facilitate the rehoming process. Additionally, we provide a safe haven program, collaborating with a domestic violence shelter to temporarily house pets for individuals displaced by crises. We also take in animals with severe medical issues that might otherwise go untreated, aiming to improve their lives and help them find suitable homes after recovery. Furthermore, we work closely with local law enforcement to address cases of cruelty and neglect.
