Adoption Process

Applicants must reside within a one-hour driving distance of North Brunswick, NJ, and have reliable transportation. Kittens thrive best when they have a companion. Therefore, if you adopt a kitten from our rescue, we strongly recommend adopting in pairs. We ask that you do not apply impulsively. To respect the time and effort of our volunteer adoption team, please submit your application only when you are certain you are ready and able to adopt, and ensure that all family members are involved in the decision-making process. Please complete the application form thoroughly, as incomplete submissions will not be considered. Applicants must be at least 21 years old to apply and cannot be undergraduate college students residing in college housing. The adoption fees for our animals are $150 for cats older than six months and $175 for cats younger than six months. When adopting more than one cat, the combined adoption donation will be reduced by $50. All adopted cats come with health records and are dewormed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. All potential adopters must fill out an online adoption application, which helps us understand your lifestyle, expectations, and previous experience with animals. Applications generally take about five business days to process. Once your application is approved, you will have the opportunity to meet our adoptable cats and kittens and find your new family member. For any additional questions, please contact us via email at [email protected].

Pittie Party Rescue in North Brunswick Township, NJ

Pittie Party Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization located in Northern and Central New Jersey, dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens in need and placing them in suitable new homes. As a foster-based nonprofit, we operate entirely on donations. Originally established as a dog rescue focused on pit bull breeds, Pittie Party Rescue faced challenges in 2017 when the dog kennel that supported our efforts closed. This led to a decline in our rescue operations until our director discovered a colony of feral cats near her apartment complex. With help, she rescued these cats, arranged for their spaying and neutering, and successfully adopted them into caring homes. This experience highlighted the cat crisis in New Jersey, prompting us to shift our focus. Pittie Party Rescue has since evolved into a cat rescue organization that primarily takes in sick and abandoned animals. We provide them with the necessary care and work diligently to find them loving forever homes, treating each animal as if they were our own while they await adoption.
