Adoption Process

All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application prior to meeting the animals. A veterinary reference will be checked at that time, if applicable. If the initial meeting is successful, the animals will be brought to the adopter's home for a home check. If everything is satisfactory, the animals will be placed with their new families. The adoption fee is $300 for dogs and $100 for cats. Each adoption includes spaying or neutering, up-to-date vaccinations, and a microchip. An adoption contract will be signed when the pet is brought to its new permanent home.

Tails of Hope is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization dedicated to serving all of New Jersey. We provide temporary shelter for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals with the goal of finding them permanent and suitable homes. Our organization is entirely run by volunteers who generously devote their time, homes, and compassion to this mission. We are committed to ensuring that every animal that enters our facility will never experience homelessness again. We aspire for our residents to find loving homes with lifelong companions or families, but if that does not happen, they will always be part of our family. In addition to sheltering animals, we offer spay and neuter services, as well as any necessary medical care. We are devoted to educating the public, particularly children, about the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership, and humane treatment of animals. We assist all animals in distress, regardless of their age, breed, or placement challenges. We believe that with temporary assistance, many animals can stay in their current homes rather than being surrendered to shelters. To support this, we provide temporary supplies of pet food and other essentials to families facing unemployment, seniors on fixed incomes, and those dealing with chronic illnesses that limit their resources. Our goal is to collaborate with local shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to build a network of supporters and volunteers, ultimately creating a better world for homeless pets.
