Adoption Process

The adoption process includes the following steps: 1. Submission of the adoption application. 2. Completion of a telephone interview. 3. Conducting a home visit. 4. Meeting with the dog. 5. Finalizing the adoption. The adoption fees are as follows: - For dogs up to 7 years old, the fee is $250. - For dogs over 7 years old, the fee is $150. Each adoption is governed by a standardized adoption contract that outlines the obligations and commitments of the adopter. This contract includes detailed information about the dog, covering aspects such as pack behavior, energy level, housebreaking, crate training, separation issues, eating habits, training, and general behaviors and observations. Additionally, it provides veterinary care information, including any pre-existing conditions and an overview of veterinary services. Adopters must meet the following requirements: - The dog is to be adopted solely as a companion and not for research or as a gift. - The dog must be provided with an indoor living environment, appropriate exercise, and access to fresh food and water, along with love, affection, and attention. - The adopter must ensure all care and treatment for the dog are in accordance with veterinary recommendations. - Within 24 hours of adoption, the dog must have a secure collar with an ID tag displaying the name and phone number, as well as any other tags required by law, such as rabies tags. - The adopter must comply with all state and local regulations concerning the licensing, ownership, custody, control, and care of dogs. - The dog must not be tethered or confined in conditions that could cause pain or suffering. - The adopter is responsible for taking preventative actions regarding any behavioral or physical damage to the dog and accepts liability for such damages. - The adopter agrees to hold Rogers' Rescues harmless for any injuries or fatalities incurred by other animals or individuals. - Rogers' Rescues representatives must be allowed access to the adopter's premises to ensure compliance with the contract. - The adopter must agree to surrender the dog back to Rogers' Rescues if they fail to meet the contract conditions, and this does not constitute a trespass. - The adopter is responsible for all costs, including professional legal fees, if Rogers' Rescues must take action to enforce any conditions of the contract.

Rogers' Rescues in Whitehouse Station, NJ

Rogers' Rescues is an all-breed dog rescue organization that operates through a network of dedicated foster homes to care for all adoptable dogs. Our committed volunteers play a vital role in supporting the adoption process, organizing fundraising events, and performing various other essential tasks. Since our establishment in June 2002, Rogers' Rescues has successfully placed over a thousand dogs in loving homes, despite not having a physical location. All dogs in our foster care are up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and flea and tick prevention, and are spayed or neutered. Puppies under six months of age are not spayed or neutered, and it is the responsibility of the adopter to ensure that the dog is altered at six months. For more details, please refer to our application. The individual signing up is the administrator and webmaster of this site, as well as a volunteer and foster home for this organization.
