Adoption Process
The adoption process begins with a free application. The fee for adopting an altered adult pet is $300, while the fee for adopting an unaltered puppy is $350.

Rescue Haven Foundation in Caldwell, NJ
The FernDog Rescue Foundation, founded and directed by Fernando Camacho, is dedicated to supporting animal rescue groups and shelters. Throughout his career as a dog behavior consultant and trainer, Fernando has observed that many of these organizations rely heavily on volunteers who work diligently to save as many animals as possible. However, they often face significant challenges due to limited funding, time, and resources. Fernando has been particularly impacted by the realization that while dogs in shelters receive physical care, their mental health often declines over time. The longer a dog remains in a shelter, the lower its chances of adoption become, primarily due to the psychological stress associated with the shelter environment. This situation is not a reflection of the shelters' efforts; they do the best they can given their constraints. The lack of resources available to facilitate meaningful change is precisely why the FernDog Rescue Foundation was established. The mission of the FernDog Rescue Foundation is to assist at-risk dogs by providing foster homes that support their physical and emotional well-being. We aim to find suitable permanent homes for these dogs while offering support and training to ensure their successful transition. Additionally, we are committed to developing programs that promote pet adoption and raise public awareness about the challenges surrounding animal rescue through community education. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
