Adoption Process

To begin the adoption process, you must submit an adoption application. An adoption donation of $400 is required at the time of adoption. After we receive your application, either by mail or online, an adoption screener will contact you to discuss the application. At this stage, a home visit may be arranged, and references will be checked either before or after the phone interview. Once a suitable match is made between an adopter and a dog, a representative from Tri-State will finalize the adoption at a location agreed upon by both parties. During this meeting, the adoption contract will be completed, outlining the terms of the agreement, along with the payment of the adoption donation.
