Adoption Process

The adoption process includes a comprehensive application, reference checks, a veterinary check, and a home visit. There is also an adoption fee and a mandatory two-week trial period before finalizing the adoption. An adoption agreement will be signed, which includes a clause stating that if the adopted pet needs to be returned at any point in their lifetime, it must be returned to the organization.

Forgotten Paws Dog Rescue in Acworth, GA

Forgotten Paws has been serving the community for nearly 25 years, primarily focusing on dogs with social, behavioral, medical, and senior issues. While we also have dogs without these challenges, our main mission revolves around assisting those that other rescues are unable to take in. Additionally, we collaborate with a local cat trapping group to address the needs of kittens in the area and to assist with the spaying of feral colonies. As a small organization, we operate with a limited number of volunteers who are significantly outnumbered by the animals in our care. We maintain a kennel facility, but we strive to place most of the animals in foster homes. The kennel is primarily designated for dogs with social difficulties, those that may bite, and senior dogs.
