Adoption Process
To find your next pet, you can browse various adoption websites we utilize, such as Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder. Alternatively, you can attend one of our adoption events, where you can select an animal, learn more about them, and potentially arrange a home visit. In some cases, a trial period may be offered. After choosing a pet, you will need to complete the required paperwork and pay the adoption fee, which typically ranges from $150 for cats and kittens to $250 or $300 for dogs and puppies.
Service Areas
Our services are available in all locations.
Cherokee Humane Society in Acworth, GA
The Thrift Store plays a significant role in the community by providing a safe space for unwanted cats and kittens in our designated "Cat Rooms" until they are adopted into permanent homes. Our operations rely solely on membership fees, donations from generous individuals, and revenue generated from our Thrift Store, as we do not receive government funding like traditional shelters. I have been with Cherokee for over five years and find great fulfillment in knowing that my work positively impacts the lives of many animals and their adopters.
