Adoption Process

We encourage potential pet owners to visit our website and complete a pre-adoption application for any pet they are interested in. If the application is approved, we will reach out to the potential adopter within 48 hours to schedule a personal meeting. Should the screening process, home visit, and personal meeting proceed successfully, the pet will be adopted by its new owners after signing the adoption contract and paying the adoption fee.

Henry County Humane Society in McDonough, GA

We are a small rural humane society dedicated to rescuing animals exclusively from our local animal control facility. Our close collaboration with this facility enables us to save as many lives as possible. We provide comprehensive veterinary care and necessary medical treatment for all incoming animals before offering them for adoption to carefully screened applicants. As an all-volunteer organization, we do not receive any funding or public assistance. I serve as one of two full-time employees, responsible for the daily care of the shelter, including cleaning and feeding the animals in our care.
