Unforgettable Paws Animal Rescue in Zellwood, FL

Founded in 2021, Unforgettable Paws Animal Rescue is a registered animal rescue organization dedicated to serving both animals and the community. Located in central Florida, we aim to be the voice for lost pets everywhere. Our dedicated team and volunteers work diligently to save lives and enhance animal welfare. Our primary mission is to find permanent homes for pets that have faced significant challenges in their lives. We pursue this objective through various programs, including animal rescue, adoption, fostering, and volunteer efforts. We also emphasize the importance of educating the public about pet overpopulation and how animal rescue can help reduce euthanasia rates. In addition to our focus on animals, Unforgettable Paws is committed to supporting people in need. We have a special commitment to helping war veterans and individuals with autism by facilitating meaningful connections between them and animals that can positively impact their lives. Our adoption process is designed to foster lifelong companionship, reflecting our belief that our rescue operates as a lifelong family. Pets that were once lost will find their place in our rescue, ensuring they are never forgotten again.

Adopting from Unforgettable Paws Animal Rescue

Adoption process

Adoption fees range from $150 to $450, depending on the dog's breed, origin, and medical needs. The adoption process begins with submitting an application. Our administrative team reviews the application for initial approval or denial based on general criteria. After this, the application is forwarded to the foster or adoption coordinator for the specific dog, who will review it and contact you to schedule a home visit, meet and greet, or in-person interview. It is essential for both you and the dog to find a suitable match. These steps are typically conducted simultaneously to streamline the adoption process and minimize waiting time for applicants. Following this, we make a final decision on approval or denial. If approved, an adoption contract will be sent to you for completion, along with the arrangement for the adoption fee. Please note that adoption requirements may vary depending on the individual dog or cat.

Service area: All of Central Florida is eligible for adoption with an approved application. This includes areas from Tampa, St. Petersburg, Brandon, and Sarasota to Orlando, Kissimmee, Sanford, and Clermont. Generally, we do not approve applications from locations more than two hours away from either Tampa or Orlando. To adopt any of our animals outside of these areas, we require an approved application along with a request and referral from a member of our rescue group, such as an administrator, foster, or previous adopter.
