7WHSKRS, which stands for 7 Women Helping Save Kitties Rescue Society, is dedicated to assisting abandoned, stray, and injured cats in the Winter Garden area through in-home fostering and the support of our community. Our team members have each been involved in rescue for over eight years, bringing together more than 50 years of combined experience. Our mission is to rescue cats from the streets before they enter the shelter system and to find them loving, permanent homes. Additionally, we aim to support serious cases at our local shelter, specifically focusing on cats that arrive with severe injuries or medical conditions.

Adoption process

All potential adopters must complete an application for consideration. We prioritize matching our cats with the most suitable homes rather than operating on a first-come, first-served basis. To have an application approved, potential adopters must refrain from declawing their pets, ensure that their pets do not roam outdoors (a screened area is acceptable), and have their current pets spayed or neutered and tested for common feline diseases. Additionally, renters must provide proof of permission from their landlord to have a pet and pay any associated fees in advance. Once an application is approved, a contract will be required to finalize the adoption. The adopter may take their new pet home once all necessary veterinary procedures have been completed through our organization, which includes spaying or neutering and obtaining a clean fecal test.
