Adoption Process

To adopt one of our dogs, all interested individuals must complete an adoption application. The online form takes less than ten minutes to fill out, and we receive it immediately upon submission. We will contact you after reviewing all applications. Once your application is reviewed, we will conduct a home visit to assess how the dog interacts with your family and environment. If your home is approved, we will initiate a 14-day foster-to-adopt trial. During this period, we will provide all necessary supplies, including food, a crate, training resources, and veterinary appointments, allowing you to see how you and the dog adjust together. If, after the 14-day trial, both your family and our rescue agree that it is a good match, we will finalize the process with an adoption contract, at which point you will pay the adoption fee.

The Doghouse Rescue Academy and Education Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to animal advocacy and rescue. Our mission extends beyond traditional rescue efforts; we focus on rehabilitating and rehoming animals while also educating the public about available resources, spay and neuter programs, and training options. We collaborate closely with rural high-kill shelters to rescue dogs, ensure they receive veterinary care, and provide the necessary evaluation, rehabilitation, and rehoming services.
