Forgotten Felines is a cat rescue located in Westbrook, Connecticut, in Middlesex County, where 4 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. Founded in 1992, it was created to meet the growing needs of the homeless cat population along the Connecticut shoreline and is a 100% volunteer-operated, 501(c)(3) no-kill organization. The shelter rescues homeless cats and kittens, cares for them on-site, and works to place them in loving adoptive homes, serving eleven towns along the Connecticut River and shoreline, including Clinton, Essex, Old Saybrook, Madison, and Westbrook. Situated about 25 miles west of New Haven, it welcomes the public to visit and meet adoptable cats at its weekly open house events, held most Saturdays without an appointment.

Adoption process

Applicants must be at least 25 years old (with proof of age), fill out an online application, and undergo reference/vet/landlord checks; an adoption coordinator reviews the application and contacts the applicant, and cats can only be reserved after approval and full payment of the adoption fee.
