Adoption Process

The adoption fees are set at $225 for puppies and $205 for adult dogs. For senior dogs aged seven and above, the fee is $145. We conduct home checks, verify any HOA restrictions concerning breeds and weight, and confirm veterinary records. Additionally, we arrange meet-and-greet sessions with all family members and existing pets.

Everglades Angels Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization that operates entirely through volunteers, dedicated to alleviating the suffering of thousands of abandoned dogs, including feral and breeding packs, through physical rescue and rehoming efforts. Our mission focuses on rescuing these dogs from rural and remote areas of Florida. We aim to provide medical treatment, including sterilization and microchip identification, as well as psychological training and placement in suitable homes. Our adoption process includes a thorough verification procedure, which involves a home check for the adopter, verification of veterinary treatment for current pets, in-person interviews, and meetings between the potential adopter and the rescue dog. We also assess the compatibility of current pets in the household before finalizing any adoption. Ensuring that our dogs are healthy and well-adjusted is crucial to our mission of preventing future abandonment. The challenge of reducing the increasing rates of pet abandonment and the growth of breeding packs is significant, with dog populations expanding by thousands each week. We are committed to developing innovative projects and participating in events to support our mission. Our educational efforts involve distributing written information, visiting community centers, and engaging with residents in remote areas of Florida to raise awareness about the tragic consequences of abandonment, including starvation, dehydration, and the dangers posed by parasites and wildlife. What sets our organization apart is our unwavering commitment to helping dogs in dire need, particularly those without shelter, food, or a basic chance of survival. We actively seek out the most vulnerable, sick, and debilitated dogs in the most remote parts of Florida to end their suffering and address the proliferation of non-native dog populations in these areas.
