Adoption Process

The adoption process for a dog from Big Dog Ranch Rescue is straightforward. Here are the steps involved in bringing a new dog into your home: First, complete our online Application Form. One of our volunteers will reach out to you within 48 hours. If you do not receive a call within that timeframe, please contact us at 561-309-3311. Next, a volunteer will conduct a veterinary reference check. Following that, a home visit will be arranged by one of our volunteers. Our staff will review your application to determine which dog would be the best fit for your family. Once a suitable match is identified, we will schedule an appointment for you to meet the dogs that align with your family's needs. Typically, you will have several options to choose from. If you already have a dog, it is advisable to bring them along to meet their potential companion. If the dog you select is ready for adoption—meaning all veterinary care has been completed and your family is prepared to welcome the dog—you will be able to take your new pet home that same day. If the chosen dog is not yet ready for adoption, we will place a hold on them until they are fully prepared for release. Adoption fees range from $150 to $400, depending on the dog's age. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. We aim to send each dog home with a one-month supply of Heartgard Plus, a one-month supply of Frontline Plus, and a sample of Kirkland's Lamb and Rice Dog Food, subject to the availability of supplies.
