Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with submitting an online application, which is followed by reference checks and home visits. Once approved, potential adopters will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the dogs. If a suitable match is found, an adoption contract will be signed. This contract stipulates that if the adopter is unable or unwilling to keep the dog for any reason, the dog must be returned to the organization. Adoption fees vary, with puppies costing $450, adult dogs ranging from $250 to $150, and senior dogs available through the Senior-4-Senior program at no cost.

The organization has been dedicated to rescuing Shetland Sheepdogs and some Sheltie mix dogs for 21 years. We strive to maintain a familial relationship with our Shelties whenever possible after they are placed in new homes. Our commitment to each dog begins at intake and lasts for their entire lifetime. We ensure that they will never go hungry, be left outside in harsh weather, or lack access to proper veterinary care. Our mission is driven by our love for the breed and the heartache we have experienced in situations involving lost Shelties.
