AJ's Search & Rescue in FAIRLAWN, OH
I am a certified dog trainer with 11 years of experience in dog showing. My passion for animals and the sport has driven my commitment to their welfare. Four years ago, I began fostering animals and have successfully adopted out 135 dogs and 6 kittens during this time. I served on the board of a rescue organization for one year and held the position of treasurer for another year. After some reflection, I decided to start my own rescue to help more animals with fewer restrictions, as my primary focus is on saving lives. Currently, I manage two businesses, which have provided me with the knowledge and resources to establish my own organization. In the past month, I have completed the necessary paperwork to operate legally and have applied for my 501(c)(3) status, which is currently pending. At present, I have 5 to 7 foster homes and 13 animals under my care.

Adoption process
The adoption process begins with the adopter completing an application. We then conduct reference checks and verify veterinary records to ensure that all current and past animals are up to date on vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered. Following this, we arrange a meet and greet involving the household members and any existing pets. If the meeting goes well, the dog or cat is sent home with the adopter. Our contract includes a two-week trial period. The adoption fees are $120 for kittens and between $200 and $300 for dogs and puppies, depending on factors such as age.
