Adoption Process

All potential adopters must complete an adoption contract that includes general information such as their veterinarian and two personal references who have known them for at least five years and do not reside with them. Additionally, adopters should list all animals they have owned, both past and present, and agree to a home inspection upon preliminary approval. Adoption fees will vary from $250.00 to $300.00, depending on the age of the dog and any special needs, such as blindness or terminal illness.

Buckeye Basset Hound Rescue in Columbus, OH

We are a non-profit, all-volunteer organization of Basset Hound owners committed to rescuing and providing care for stray and unwanted Basset Hounds throughout Ohio. With our passion for and experience with the breed, we are able to take in dogs, spay or neuter them, ensure they receive necessary vaccinations and surgeries, and rehabilitate and socialize them through foster homes to prepare them for adoption.
