Adoption Process

The adoption process includes submitting an application that requires a veterinary reference. The basic fee for adoption is $150. Once approved, adopters will sign a contract and enter a two-week trial period with the dog. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, treated for fleas and worms, and tested for heartworms.

Saving Pets One at a Time Inc, the Morgan County Humane Society in Stockport, OH

We are a team of dedicated volunteers committed to decreasing the number of dogs euthanized at the pound, reuniting lost dogs with their owners, and providing food assistance to families in need, allowing them to keep their pets during challenging times. To qualify for free food from our pantry, dogs must be spayed or neutered. We also offer monthly clinics at little to no cost for dogs in Morgan County. Each year, we rescue and successfully place approximately 300 dogs. Our approach involves keeping dogs in foster homes, which allows us to understand their personalities and needs before adoption. We believe that in a small county like ours, maintaining a shelter building is an unnecessary expense and detrimental to the well-being of the dogs.
