Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society in Bowling Green, KY

The Humane Society is an independent, non-profit organization that has been contracted by Warren County to manage the animal shelter since 1983. It is important to note that the Humane Society operates independently and is not a department of either city or county government. While the city and county own the shelter building, the Humane Society receives funding from both governments to support its operations. This funding is allocated for various expenses, including employee salaries, utility bills, cleaning supplies, euthanasia solutions, cat litter, fuel for rescue vehicles, and building maintenance and repairs. Donations to the Humane Society are dedicated to providing medical care for sick and injured animals, purchasing animal cages, and acquiring incidental supplies such as food and water bowls, treats, canned food, toys, and materials for fundraising and educational outreach programs. Additionally, Hill's Pet Products generously donates food for dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies. In 2004, the Humane Society expanded its facilities by opening the HILDRETH Adoption Center.
