Adoption Process

Adoption Process To begin the adoption process, please review our list of available animals at wishuponarescue.org or attend one of our adoption events to meet the animals in person. If you find an animal you are interested in, contact us at [email protected] to arrange a meeting. You will need to complete an adoption application, which can be done at an event, online, or sent via email to [email protected]. Following this, you will participate in an interview and, if necessary, a home visit with an Adoption Counselor who can address any questions you may have. A WISH After-Care Manager will reach out to you several times over the next few months to check on the animal's health and well-being and to assist with any concerns or questions you might have. Due to the high volume of applications we receive for each animal, we utilize our adoption criteria, completed applications, interviews, and home visits to determine the best fit for each animal. We will notify all applicants of their adoption status promptly. If you are not selected for a particular animal, we are happy to help you find another suitable match. Adoption fees are as follows: For dogs: - Puppies under 1 year: $400 - Dogs over 1 year: $300 - Senior dogs: $100 - Special needs: Variable For cats: - Kittens under 8 months: $150 each or $250 for a pair - Cats over 8 months: $100 - Cats aged 8 years and up: $50 - Special needs: Variable
