Adoption Process
The initial step in our adoption process is to fill out our online adoption application. Applicants will receive an email regarding the status of their application within one business day, not including holidays. Once the application is approved, the adopter is welcome to participate in any of our adoption events or can request a reservation to meet with an available animal at our event. The adoption contract, which must be signed upon adoption, is available for review by clicking on the "Adoption Contract" link in the list to the left.
Service Areas
We serve the Champaign area and southern Illinois. While we welcome adopters from across the country, they are required to travel to an adoption event to meet and adopt pets, as we do not ship pets under any circumstances.

Midwest Animal Rescue Service of Illinois (MARS) was established in 2009 to address the pet overpopulation challenges in southern Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee through a no-kill adoption program. Our commitment to assisting animals in need has enabled us to provide rescue services for hundreds of dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, and horses.
