Adoption Process

Our Adoption Process Once you submit your adoption application through our website, a Taysia Blue volunteer will reach out to you within 2 to 3 days. We prioritize understanding which type of dog will best suit you, your family, and any other pets in your home. We will also call you to discuss the specific dog you are interested in and to go over the currently available dogs in our rescue. We will arrange an appointment for you to meet the dog(s). If we find a suitable match, we can complete the adoption process during this visit. If a perfect match is not found, we will continue our efforts until we do. Our goal is for your home to be the final stop in the dog's journey. We strive to make the transition as smooth as possible by providing you with an information packet that includes helpful tips and resources. Our veterinary care standards include the following: - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. - If a heartworm test is negative, the dog will be placed on regular heartworm preventative. If the test is positive, the dog will receive treatment to eliminate the heartworms and then be placed on preventative. - Each dog will receive a rabies vaccination. - Dogs will be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, and Parvo (DHP). - A Bordetella vaccination (for kennel cough) will be administered. - Flea and tick preventative will be provided. - Each dog will be microchipped. Adoption donation requirements are as follows: - Puppies 6 months of age or younger require a donation of $350. - Dogs over 6 months and under 8 years old require a donation of $300. - Dogs 8 years and older require a donation of $250.

Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue in Omaha, NE

Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue, located in Nebraska, is a nonprofit organization recognized under section 501(c)(3). Our mission, carried out entirely by volunteers, is to prevent Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes from entering shelters where they may face the risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Siberian Huskies are strikingly beautiful dogs, known for their fluffy coats and captivating eyes. Their playful behavior and remarkable intelligence can be endearing, but these traits come with challenges. Huskies shed fur, exhibit playful antics that may lead to destructive behavior, and possess a strong desire for independence, often attempting to escape for adventure. Many Huskies are adopted by individuals who may not fully understand the responsibilities that come with these traits. Potential owners should be aware of the high energy levels and exercise needs of this breed. Huskies are intelligent but can be easily bored, making training a challenge due to their sometimes stubborn and mischievous nature. We strongly encourage thorough research on the Siberian Husky breed before deciding to adopt.
