EIN# 84-1846620 We are an animal advocacy group and dog rescue based in Upstate South Carolina. Our organization was inspired by the tragic case of Champ, a Mastiff mix who was discovered emaciated and near death, chained to a tree in Laurens County, SC. United by a shared commitment to champion the rights of abused animals, our members come from across the United States and around the globe. Although we are a new non-profit organization operating for just over a year, we have cultivated a dedicated following of 4,600 members. In our brief existence, we have accomplished significant milestones, including a successful email campaign that resulted in felony charges against Champ's abuser, and a demonstration outside the Laurens County Courthouse. We played a vital role in advocating for South Carolina Senate Bill S.105, known as the Animal Welfare Bill, partnering with the Humane Society of the United States during Humane Lobby Day at the Statehouse in Columbia, SC. Our team actively participates in local county council meetings and has contributed to the passage of tethering ordinances in Spartanburg and Greenville counties. In addition to our advocacy efforts, we operate our own rescue and have assisted numerous private citizens in accessing spay/neuter services through our collaboration with SPEAK FOR ANIMALS. We are committed to supporting our fellow rescue organizations by providing foster care, food donations, and fundraising for special needs animals. By working together, we can enhance our effectiveness as advocates for the animals we serve. We successfully rescued a Husky who had spent four years chained to a tree in Lyman, SC. After receiving veterinary care and being neutered, he is now happily adopted by his foster family. Our organization specializes in caring for orphaned bottle puppies, but we also have a strong passion for pit bulls and black dogs. We ensure that all rescue dogs receive comprehensive medical care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and flea and heartworm prevention. Currently, we have seventeen dogs in our care. Looking ahead, our future plans are ambitious. With our 501(c)(3) status, we aim to enhance our community impact, including establishing a "pop-up pet food bank." We believe that providing pet food assistance can help keep pets in their homes and out of shelters. Our initiative will also include distributing educational materials on available community services, spay/neuter information, vaccination resources, and guidance on reporting animal abuse. In our vision for the future, we dream of a facility where we can care for more animals rescued from high-kill shelters, ensuring they receive the necessary food and medical care while they await their forever homes.
