Pet Pals, Inc. is an animal shelter located in Gordan, Alabama, in Houston County, roughly 60 miles southeast of Tallahassee, Florida, with two other animal shelters or rescues also based in Houston County. Founded and run by Pam Andrews for over 25 years, it rescues lost and abandoned dogs, cats, birds, and other animals, caring for around 200 dogs at a time while working to place them in permanent homes. Animals too old or sick to be adopted are kept and given medical care and a comfortable home for the rest of their lives. As a non-profit, tax-deductible organization, Pet Pals relies on public donations to cover food, medicine, and housing costs for the animals in its care.
