Adoption Process

To adopt a cat or kitten from the Burry Paws website, please start by submitting an application. Once your application is received, a foster caregiver will reach out to you within 72 hours to discuss your application in detail. If you are approved as a potential adopter, we will arrange a meeting for you to get acquainted with the pet. Burry Paws operates as a volunteer-driven organization, relying on foster caregivers to offer loving and stable homes to homeless cats and kittens. This environment helps the animals prepare to become wonderful companions for their future families. Please note that we do not have a physical facility at this time; our foster pets live in the homes of volunteers and become part of their families until they are adopted. After the meeting, your application will be reviewed for final approval. Upon approval, you will need to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. The fee is $100 for a kitten or cat up to two years old, or $175 if you choose to adopt a pair. Finally, we are pleased to provide our adopters with educational materials, health records, and some of the kitten’s favorite toys to take home.
