Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of an application. Once the application is approved and a home visit is completed, the adoption fee is $200. This fee covers current vaccinations, microchipping, de-worming, spaying or neutering, and ensures that the animal is up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

Service Areas

We primarily serve the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill areas, but we are willing to travel within North Carolina and Virginia for the right home for our pets.

Hope Animal Rescue in Durham, NC

Hope Animal Rescue, established in February 2013, is a nonprofit organization committed to eliminating the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in North Carolina. Founded by a mother-daughter team passionate about improving the lives of shelter animals, we operate as a foster-based rescue. As of August 30, 2013, we are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to end the killing of homeless pets in North Carolina and to abolish the use of gas chamber euthanasia. We focus on rescuing animals that are at immediate risk of being euthanized and advocate for alternative solutions to the euthanasia of adoptable animals in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to transform every shelter in North Carolina into a No-Kill facility. Achieving this vision requires the collective effort of the community.
