Adopting from Surry Animal Rescue

Adoption process

Our adoption process is comprehensive and involves several key steps. First, prospective adopters must complete an adoption application. Following this, we conduct a veterinary check to ensure that all current and past pets are up to date on vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered. A home check is also required, particularly for larger dogs, which necessitates a fenced yard. If these assessments are satisfactory and the adoption is approved, the adopter will pay an adoption fee and sign a contract. This contract stipulates that the animal must receive regular veterinary care and cannot be transferred to another home without the rescue's consent. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and are current on vaccinations, as well as flea and heartworm medications.
