Adoption Process

Individuals interested in adopting a greyhound must first complete an adoption application, which can be submitted online or in person at the kennel. Within one to three days, applicants will receive a phone call or email notifying them of their application status. The next step involves visiting the kennel to consult with an adoption counselor and meet the available dogs. Once a suitable match is found, adopters are required to complete an adoption contract that outlines their commitment to care for the dog. Should the adopter be unable to continue caring for the dog at any time, they must return the dog to PRH immediately. The adoption fee is $275, which covers the costs of spaying or neutering the dog, a three-year rabies vaccine, annual vaccinations, a martingale collar, and a basket muzzle.

Project Racing Home in Randleman, NC

Project Racing Home is a nonprofit organization established six years ago. Since our inception, we have successfully placed over 900 retired racing greyhounds into loving homes. Our guiding principle is to ensure "the right hound in the right home with the right family." We focus exclusively on finding homes for retired racing greyhounds after they conclude their racing careers. Our kennel facility is equipped to accommodate up to 48 dogs, each of which undergoes a personality assessment to determine traits such as compatibility with cats, friendliness with children, confidence, and shyness.
