Adoption Process
All prospective adopters are required to complete an adoption application, provide a driver's license or state ID, and include a veterinary reference. Renters must also provide a phone number for their landlord. Same-day adoptions are typically possible, except on Saturdays after noon when veterinary offices are closed. In such cases, the new pet cannot go home until Monday when the veterinary office reopens and the veterinary reference can be verified. As of July 2009, Illinois law mandates that all animals adopted from a rescue or shelter must be microchipped within 30 days of adoption. This requirement will be included in the adoption contract, and it is the adopter's responsibility to complete this process and provide proof to ICARe. All animals available for adoption are already dewormed, spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, and have received two distemper vaccinations. The adoption fees are as follows: adult cats are $50, kittens are $65, purebred cats are $75, purebred kittens are $100, adult dogs range from $75 to $100 depending on age and breed, and puppies, purebreds, and designer mixes range from $100 to $125 based on age.

Iroquois County Animal Rescue in Iroquois, IL
Iroquois County Animal Rescue was established in 2008 in response to the many domestic animals displaced by the floods in Watseka, Illinois. Since then, our organization has grown significantly, expanding our services to cover all of Iroquois County. We are dedicated to providing essential support to residents who care for animals in need. Our mission is to serve the community by responding promptly to requests for assistance regarding animals in distress, and we rely on your support to continue our work. Iroquois County Animal Rescue operates as a true charity, with 100% of our income directed towards the care of the animals. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations made to us are tax-deductible. The mission of Iroquois County Animal Rescue encompasses three main objectives: first, to alleviate the suffering of domestic animals in Iroquois County by meeting their immediate needs for food, shelter, and medical care; second, to ensure the long-term welfare of these animals by facilitating their placement into foster or adoptive homes; and third, to address animal overpopulation in Iroquois County by offering low-cost spay and neuter services to pet owners and animal caregivers.
