The Humane Society of Logan County is a nonprofit animal shelter and pet adoption center located at 1801 N Lincoln Pkwy in Lincoln, Illinois, serving Logan County and central Illinois, about 30 miles southwest of Springfield, IL. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, the shelter has connected dogs and cats with loving families for decades, having served the community since 2006, and is powered entirely by community donations and volunteers with no federal, state, or local tax dollars involved. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption, and the organization has found homes for more than 1,007 pets to date. Beyond adoption, the humane society offers low-cost spay/neuter services, a pet food pantry, and operates the Forever Home Cemetery, where people and their pets can rest together.
