St. Joseph Bay Humane Society is an IRS-certified 501(c)3 no-kill shelter located in Port Saint Joe, Florida, serving all of Gulf County as its humane society for stray animals and animal control housing. Its mission is to relieve animal suffering, prevent animal cruelty, promote human education, and enhance the animal-human bond, and it partners with rescue organizations across the nation to find loving homes for its animals. The shelter offers regular hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and also operates an on-site thrift store, Faith's Thrift Hut, with proceeds benefiting the animals. One other animal shelter or rescue is also located in Gulf County, and the shelter sits roughly 70 miles northeast of Tallahassee.
