Adoption Process

The City conducts a thorough interview process to ensure that prospective adopters are truly committed to the animals they choose. The application requires detailed information about the household, including living conditions, the number and ages of children, and the amount of time that can be dedicated to the pet. Applicants who indicate that the animal will be kept outdoors only will be automatically disqualified. The City shelter charges a fee of $97 for both dogs and cats, which covers spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and the implantation of an identification chip prior to adoption.

I serve as the Publications Manager for the City of Pasadena, overseeing both web/electronic and print publications. I am the primary contact for departments seeking to implement new software applications that are focused on information technology but intended for end users. Additionally, I am involved with the Pets & People Alliance, an organization founded approximately 12 years ago by the current mayor to support the City shelter through fundraising efforts. These initiatives enable the shelter to enhance its services for animals. The Alliance primarily consists of City employees, along with other interested individuals.
