Denkai Animal Sanctuary in Grover, CO

Denkai Animal Sanctuary is located in Grover, Colorado, in Weld County, roughly 30 miles northwest of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is one of 9 other animal shelters and rescues also serving Weld County. Founded in 2004, Denkai has grown from a grassroots organization into a leading quality-of-life organization providing services for domestic animals and pet owners, having helped over 34,000 animals nationwide including neglected horses, abandoned farm animals, and surrendered pets. The sanctuary operates a veterinary clinic offering affordable care, runs foster and adoption programs, and maintains an equine hay bank and pet food bank to support animals and owners in need. Denkai is currently pursuing a capital campaign to build a permanent facility in Hesperus that will expand its rescue operations and launch equine-based therapy programs.
