Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Inc. in Racine, WI

Northcentral Maltese Rescue, Inc. is a rescue organization located in Racine, Wisconsin, roughly 5 miles south of Racine, in Racine County, where 6 other animal shelters or rescues also operate. Formed in January 2001, the group was incorporated that same year and expected about 15 Maltese rescues but took in 35, with numbers increasing yearly since; it received federal not-for-profit status in March 2006. Run entirely by volunteers as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, its mission is to take in Maltese and other small dogs from owner surrenders, shelters, and other situations, providing full veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping while dogs live in safe foster homes. Adoptions require complete background checks and home visits to ensure the safety and well-being of every dog placed.
