Adoption Process
RMFR is home to many lovable cats of various ages, shapes, and sizes, all in need of caring homes. If you are interested in adopting a cat from RMFR, please visit the shelter to complete an application or download one if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader. We require that all family members who will be adopting meet the cat in person. Additionally, you will need to provide proof of address, such as a lease agreement, a recent bill, or a valid driver's license, along with a phone number for your veterinarian. If you are renting, we also need consent from your landlord. The shelter is located at 2390 S. Delaware Street, Denver, CO 80223. Our hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 4 p.m., and on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed on Wednesdays. Adoption fees are as follows: - One cat under the age of 6 years: $70.00 - Two cats under the age of 6 years: $100.00 - One cat over the age of 6 years: $60.00 - Two cats over the age of 6 years: $100.00 For individuals over 65 years of age, we offer a Senior Discount: one cat over 6 years for $50.00 and two cats over 6 years for $75.00. Payments can be made by cash or check; we do not accept credit cards. The adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, an FIV/FELV test, a safety collar, a shelter ID tag, and a cardboard carrier. We also provide microchipping for a low fee of $30.00 per pet. Microchipping can significantly increase the chances of your pet being returned to you if they become lost.

Founded in 1982, the Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill cat shelter situated in Denver, Colorado. The dedicated staff and volunteers provide care for around 150 homeless, abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and kittens. The organization does not receive government funding and relies on community donations and proceeds from fundraising events to support its operations. The shelter is located in an industrial area, less than five miles from Downtown Denver. It originally started in a garage and has been at its current location for approximately 22 years.
