Adoption Process

The adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single kitten (up to 6 months old) or $300 for a pair of kittens adopted on the same day. For a single adult cat (aged 6 months to 8 years), the fee is $125, while adopting a pair of adults on the same day costs $200. Senior cats over the age of 8 are available for $75, and bonded pairs of seniors can be adopted for $100. We encourage prospective adopters to begin by completing an online adoption application. Due to safety protocols, we are limiting the number of visitors in our main shelter. When visiting, please wear a mask and use the hand sanitizer or wipes provided by the shelter before entering. Our primary goal is to find safe, loving, and permanent homes for all cats and kittens. Many wonderful animals end up in shelters because they were not the right match for their families from the start. We ask potential adopters to complete an application, participate in a one-on-one interview with a Town Cats representative, agree to maintain contact with us, and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover the costs of care and medical treatment for the cats we support. We seek individuals who are committed to providing a lifelong home for their cats and understand the responsibilities involved. Our team will work to match your needs with the temperament and type of animal that will best suit your lifestyle. Cats are available for adoption by appointment from our foster homes, and you can also meet some of our cats at local Petco or Pet Food Express locations.

Town Cats of Morgan Hill in Morgan Hill, CA

Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of stray, abandoned, unwanted, and feral cats in Santa Clara County while advocating for all cats. We achieve this through various initiatives, including sponsoring innovative programs that assist both traditional shelter cats and community cats living outdoors. We prioritize educating the public through community outreach and provide essential resources to empower the community in becoming part of the solution. Additionally, we offer cat food and support to low-income cat guardians, fosters, or owners and strive to find permanent, safe, and loving homes for the homeless cats and kittens in our care. For over 20 years, Town Cats has been dedicated to serving the Santa Clara County community by rescuing and placing cats of all kinds into safe and loving homes. Renowned for achieving what seems impossible, we specialize in caring for special needs and community cats that have often been overlooked, such as pre-weaned bottle-fed kittens and cats requiring intensive medical care, as well as those who are positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Town Cats also plays a vital role in educating the public about important issues related to cat care, the benefits of free-roaming feline communities, humane relocation procedures, the significance of spaying and neutering, and the Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program. Under the leadership of our founder, Rosi Mirko, who has dedicated her life to saving both feline and human lives through her compassion, passion, and hard work, Town Cats has established itself as a key resource for cat lovers, particularly in South Santa Clara County.
